So I've been experimenting lately to try and get the best possible AC experience on my Thrustmaster T300RS, and I've come up against some good and some bad advice. Here is what I suggest after a lot of trial and error.
Thrustmaster control panel
This is the best place to start as it has an affect on everything else down the line. My suggestions are:
Rotation = 1080 (This will be edited per-car later via .ini file editing)
Constant = 100%
Periodic = 0% 100% (whoops, sorry everyone)
Spring = 0%
Damper = 0%
Let the game auto-centre the wheel
In-game force feedback settings
Gain = 100% (Don't worry, we're going to use a FFB clipping app to automatically set this per car and track combo, so just leave this at 100% for now)
Filter = 0%
Minimum force = 2%
Kerb = 20%
Road = 20%
Slip = 30%
ABS Effects = 20%
Enhanced Understeer = Off
Half FFB Update Rate = Off
Editing files
Go to: Steamsteamappscommonassettocorsasystemcfgassetto_corsa.ini and edit [SOFT_LOCK] ENABLED=1 right at the bottom of the page, hit save and close. This limits the wheel rotation to be true to whatever vehicle you are using.
Mods
There is only one mod I recommend (as far as force feedback goes) and that's the FFBClip app (http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/ffbclip-app.7910/). Download it, and unzip the file straight into Steamsteamappscommonassettocorsa. Once in game, enable it via settings, general, and then tick the relevant box. You will have to enable the UI element once in a car in game. Set it to automatic mode, and do a few laps, it will tweak the gain to give the highest possible strength force feedback while minimising clipping. If this feels to heavy for you, change it to light mode, and vice versa. When you reload the same car and track combo, the app will recognise this, and default to manual mode with the gain it calculated before. Because of this, I reccomend you do 5 laps when you initially have the app on auto mode in order to ensure the gain is set right.
A word on LUT generators
Don't use these with the T300RS! The wheel has almost perfectly linear FFB by default and any changes you make from the rather excellent AC default make the wheel feel extremely light. I just wanted to mention this so you don't go out looking and end up spoiling all the hard work you've put in.
I am going to write an Assetto Corsa general mod and Occulus Rift graphics guide soon, but in the mean time, let me know if this helped you at all!
Edit
Changed periodic = 0% to 100%. That's quite a big mistake so sorry everyone!
